CMC Data Explorer Training with ALLARM

ALLARM Hosts CMC Data Explorer Training for Stream Team Monitors

Late last year, the Alliance for Aquatic Resource Monitoring (ALLARM) hosted a Chesapeake Monitoring Cooperative (CMC) Data Explorer training for Stream Team monitors, providing an opportunity to deepen understanding of how volunteer-collected data are shared, accessed, and used. The session walked participants through the CMC Data Explorer homepage, highlighting key features and demonstrating the step-by-step process for uploading monitoring data using the online submission form.

Beyond the technical overview, the training created space to explore real-world data use scenarios and discuss how Stream Team data contribute to broader watershed-wide analyses and decision-making. These conversations helped reinforce the value of consistent, high-quality monitoring and the important role volunteers play in strengthening regional water quality datasets.

Held during the colder, darker months of the year, the training also served as a meaningful point of connection, offering a chance to reflect on the impact of monitoring efforts and look ahead to the coming field season. We’re grateful for the opportunity to engage with Stream Team monitors and are excited to continue building these connections through future trainings and collaborations in 2026.
