CMC Makes a Splash at Choose Clean Water Conference

The Choose Clean Water Conference was held last week in Richmond, VA, the first in person conference in 3 years! The conference offered a suite of presentations tackling the Chesapeake Bay’s biggest water quality issues and the incredible work being done to address them. There were great presentations covering topics from forest buffers to microplastic monitoring to advancing DEIJ outcomes. The conference also offered field trips highlighting Richmond’s unique environmental projects and connection to the James River. Attendees were able to white water raft, take a walking tour of Richmond’s landscaping efforts, tour a wastewater treatment plant, and more. The conference also offered ample networking time for attendees to reconnect and revive their enthusiasm for protecting the Bay!

The CMC team, Liz Chudoba and Julie Vastine, presented on the NFWF Restoration Monitoring protocol and were met with excitement to have a consistent way to monitor key restoration projects across the watershed. We look forward to jumping back into the in person conferences and connecting with everyone again! Hope to see you soon!
